Speech enhancement in the communication between vehicles

The spectral-subtraction technique is applied to enhance some Arabic sounds embedded in helicopter noise as well as other types of environmental noise. The results show that this method is more efficient for speech enhancement than the other methods such as comb and adaptive filtering. The decrease in the value of the threshold factor from 0.02 to 0.001 has served to improve the intelligibility of speech by increasing the signal/noise ratio.<
