Performance efficiency of a closed-loop water recycling system

Semi-aqueous cleaning processes employ a water rinse section to remove any drag-out solvent adhering to the PCBs following the solvent cleaning process. The wastewater generated in the rinsing process is not discharged but is instead purified, recycled, and reused. The contaminants introduced into the rinse water will depend on flux loading levels in the semi-aqueous cleaning solvent. Consequently, methods of process control are required to monitor the levels of contaminants introduced into the rinse section. The closed-loop wastewater purification process involves removal of organics and ionics by utilizing the appropriate carbon treatment and ion-exchange resins. The water quality produced in this purification process is monitored by measuring the level of organic and ionic contaminants. The design, characterization and efficiency of a closed-loop water recycling process operating in a manufacturing environment is presented.<
