An interactive parallel program slicer for the hypercube

Program slicing is an approach used in the debugging process. The authors report on the development of an interactive parallel program slicer (PPS) for distributed-memory parallel programs on the iPSC/2 Hypercube System. PPS focuses on the csend and crecv commands of the iPSC/2 Hypercube System. An extended slicing criterion is developed for applying program slicing to distributed-memory parallel programs. The design approach of the static-slicing-based PPS is discussed. Some basic rules for applying PPS to iPSC/2 Hypercube System programs are introduced. An example is also presented.<
