Fast actuator modeling by finite element method

The development of an electronically controlled fuel injection system is important to reduce the emissions and noise from the diesel engine. In order to design a high response magnetic solenoid actuator which is used for the fuel injection system, an optimal design of magnetic circuit is required. In this paper, a practical software using the 3-D finite element method with edge element is developed. The software is applied to the analysis of an actuator taking into account the eddy current and the motion of armature.<
