Frequency interference measurement experiment results for the space-to-space communications subsystem (SSCS)

The paper presents the results from the frequency interference measurement (FIM) experiments which have flown on two Space Shuttle Orbiter (SSO) flights. These FIM experiments collected potential interference data for the 410-420 MHz frequency band. The space-to-space communication subsystem (SSCS) will operate within this frequency band to provide extravehicular activity (EVA) communications for astronauts from the SSO and the space station freedom (SSF) and will also be used as a primary command and control link by the SSO during approach and rendezvous to the SSF.<
