A computational grammar for Hindi verb phrase

The work presented is the continuation of an earlier work by the authors, wherein the grammar rules based on the concept of grammatical relations for parsing simple Hindi sentences have been given (D. K. Lobiyal, G. V. Singh, 1993). In that analysis, only the sentences with simple verb phrase have been considered. The authors extend the grammar to account for sentences with compound, conjunct or complex verb phrases. The presented analysis slightly modifies the set of rules for simple verb phrase and provides a new set of rules for compound, conjunct and complex verb phrases. Besides, it presents a finer subcategorization of tense and aspect suffixes.<
