On the role of physical insight in small signal analysis of switching power converters

Several examples demonstrate how physical insight helps in the identification of generic features of certain important switching power converters. These generic features permit simplified analyses which yield user friendly small-signal models with limited applicability. The author attempts to provide help in choosing the best model for a concrete application.<
