Feature recognition from 2D and 3D modellers

It is established that feature recognition is the area which needs concentration for a totally automated process planning system (APPS) and the cornerstone for developing downstream application programs to a higher degree. In that context, important feature aspects and the philosophy behind feature based systems are presented. Well-known works and recognition techniques developed in the three-dimensional domain are surveyed. The 2-D context is also examined.<
