Eigenstructure assignment by decentralized feedback control

An approach to eigenstructure assignment using decentralized control is introduced. First, several analytical results are presented to characterize the set of decentralized controllers which achieve desired eigenvalue assignment. Then, a method is proposed to assign eigenvalue and eigenvectors of a linear system simultaneously, using decentralized control. The method is applied to the control of a power system to illustrate its effectiveness.<
