Reducing noise in a sampled voltage tracker

A brief history of voltage trackers, sampling voltage trackers, and sampled voltage trackers with integrator feedback is presented. Included are the important attributes of each circuit topology and the techniques (i.e., mean estimation and median estimation) that are employed to reduce noise. Two noise improvements made to the sampling voltage tracker are discussed. These are the addition of a specialized sweep averager and the addition of a feedback integrator. The importance of circuit layout in reducing noise and crosstalk is reported.<
