Hurricane force (power overhead lines)

The hurricane which hit the south east of England on the 16th October 1987 had a devastating effect on electricity supplies. It was apparent that previous refurbishment programmes had been ineffective in preventing damage, in particular the tree timing programme. The author looks at how future programmes may work in order to prevent so much damage.<
