The color correction of printer for computer graphics

In thermal sublimation dye transfer full-color printers, the three primary color dyes include impure components, which becomes an obstacle in reproducing natural colors. Brightness-controlled color masking (BCCM) is presented as a method for color-correcting highly saturated colors that cannot be corrected by conventional color masking. CCM is based on the result of experiments showing that brightness of colors is more important than saturation. The principle of BCCM is to get the same brightness in actual printed dyes as in ideal dyes. A read-only-memory (ROM) chip set that calculates the color-correction-equation values used in the BCCM method is also described.<
