Fabrication and characterization of PMN-PT thin films

Lead-magnesium-niobate-lead-titanate thin films of the morphotropic phase boundary composition were prepared through the sol-gel spin-on technique. Both conventional and rapid thermal annealing were used. The rapid thermally annealed films showed a high dielectric constant of 2900, with a low dissipation factor of 0.02. The films were hysteretic with a remanent polarization of 11 mu C/cm/sup 2/ and a coercive field of 11 kV/cm.<
