Battlefield damage assessment and repair (BDAR) of electronic equipment

The authors describe the different types of combat environments and damage that military electronic equipment may be exposed to. The weapon systems covered include recently developed/improved overpressure weapons, chemical (including biological weapons), and nuclear. It is argued that on the modern battlefield, the proper application of battlefield damage assessment and repair (BDAR) techniques will result in a more effective fighting force and enhance maintenance alternatives. Electronics BDAR will enable the commander to maximize the time that he is able to deploy an effective fighting force.<
