Automated electronic circuit design: realities and pitfalls

The authors explore the issues associated with setting up an electronic design automation (EDA) facility in an educational environment, pointing out what the reader should look for, what is available now, and what might be available in the future. In the design of such a facility, one needs to be aware of how to go about this process. The authors indicate this through a top-down design technique including what the laboratory should look like, how to break down this laboratory into smaller parts, and their interrelationship to each other and to other parts of the program. Finally, it is shown how to make the essential parts work properly in today's engineering or technology program.<
