Application of the thermally stimulated polarization current method for measuring of the electrical conductivity of alkali aluminosilicate glasses

The thermally stimulated polarization current method was used to study the alkali ion motion in lithium-sodium aluminosilicate glasses. The minimum of the electrical conductivity as a function of the glass composition was observed (mixed alkali effect). The electrical conductivity of the measured glasses determined by the thermally stimulated polarization current technique agrees well with that measured by the DC technique.<
