Radio Network Dimensioning in UMTS Network Planning Process

This article deals with network dimensioning procedure in UMTS network planning process. There are mentioned important parameters in radio link budget. Fundamental task in network dimensioning process is to estimate total traffic in the cell. There are described methods for cell load computing in the both directions. The uplink and the downlink are considered separately. The procedure of soft capacity estimation using Erlang-B formula is also described in this article.
