Silicon microlens on V-groove platform for low-cost optical packaging

New silicon microlens is proposed for low-cost optical packaging, suitable for surface mount technology with silicon V-groove platform. Experimental results confirmed that efficient coupling between DFB-LD and single-mode fibre was achieved with low-cost and volume-production aspects.
