SNR estimation in frequency selective Rayleigh channel for HIPERLAN/2 transceiver

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems have received much attention because of their robust performance in dispersive channels. However, channel state information, especially signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), is necessary in order to obtain improvements in receiver performance. In this work, a computationally simple SNR estimator is evaluated for a HIPERLAN/2 OFDM transceiver. The estimator operates on Rayleigh fading frequency selective channel using BPSK modulated data.
