The effect of induction motor rotor eccentricity on surge test data

This paper investigates the effect of induction motor rotor eccentricity on the surge test data. It points out that rotor eccentricity makes surge waveform rotor-position dependent. In this way air gap abnormality can be seen clearly without the use of high-frequency data sampling and high-resolution spectral analysis, but still in a completely unobtrusive manner. This detection method is reliable with minimal noise interference. Experimental results validate the analysis and the feasibility of the proposed detection scheme.
