Numerical control in HV/MV substations-EDF considerations

Electricite de France wished to examine the developments necessary for the control of MV installations in substations. The authors look at the existing situation including costs and substation equipment renewal. It is concluded that the protection and control system of virtually all existing substations should be modified within the next 12 years. The development of a new numerical control system around a LAN is envisaged.<
