Modeling of tetrahedrally close-packed structures in magnetic nanocrystalline Fe-C films

The atomic structure under investigation was generated in Fe-C films as a result of heating by electron beam, annealing in an evacuated furnace and mechanical shock. Models of three-dimensional atomic structure of explored films assuming modular self-organizing and Frank-Kasper polyhedrons conceptions are constructed. Comparison of Fourier model in certain zone axes with the actual patterns of an electron diffraction obtained from "explosive" crystals detected the possibility of structure, containing icosahedrons and Frank-Kasper polyhedrons such as FK16 in Fe-C films.
