Magnetic entropy change in Mn/sub 1.1/Fe/sub 0.9/P/sub 1-x/Ge/sub x/ compounds

Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Mn/sub 1.1/Fe/sub 0.9/P/sub 1-x/Ge/sub x/ compounds were reported. These materials were found advantageous for use as magnetic refrigerants because they don't contain expensive rare-earth element Gd or the toxic element As.
