Intermittency from mutually-coupled autonomous third-order phase-locked loop

In this paper, we demonstrate by simulation that chaos intermittency is observed in mutually coupled third order PLL with sinusoidal phase detector characteristics. This system is represented by seven-dimensional nonlinear nonautonomous differential equation. For a coupling factor /spl zeta/ = 0.8, we found a type of intermittency arise through increasing the loop gain (K/sub o/).
