Charge transport of HgTe/CdTe core-shell structured nanoparticles

Semiconductor nanoparticles have shown very attractive physical properties for the fabrication of nanometer-sized electrical and optoelectronic devices. HgTe nanoparticles exhibit their effective bandgap in the range from ultra-far infrared to near infrared wavelength [l] although bulk HgTe has been known as semi-metaI material with the bandgap of near zero eV at room temperature. Recently, photocurrent of hybrid system of organic material and HgTe nanoparticles in the range of visible and infrared are reported.[2] These results reveal that HgTe nanoparticles are very prospect materia1 for IR photodetector, In this study, we investigate the effect of CdTe shell surrounding HgTe nanoparticle for the charge transport
