On the measurement of voltage transfer functions

The voltage transfer function of a network may be determined by measuring its reflection properties. Unless the network meets certain conditions, the difference between the actual and measured functions can be significant. The relation between these two quantities is investigated. Its application is illustrated by measurements made on a bandpass network.
