Semiconductor device development in the 1970's and 1980's—A perspective

In 1970's, over 40 000 papegs on semiconductor devices were published, with numerous breakthroughs in device concept and perfomance. This paper reviews some highlights of the 1970's and indicates the trends of semiconductor-device development for the 1980's.
