A new approach to maintenance-free industrial batteries

The ideal of a completely maintenance-free battery has existed in the battery industry for many years, but has only become a reality for industrial batteries within the last decade. The author looks at the design of maintenance-free nickel-cadmium batteries and charts their development. The active material is retained in perforated steel pockets so there is virtually no shedding of active material during the life of the battery.<
