Frequency response characteristics of a parallel coupled line on ferrite/dielectric layer

This paper discusses the use of extended finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method analyzed parallel coupled line on magnetized ferrites. The treatment of the ferrite material is based on the equation of motion of the magnetization vector. Magnetic losses are also included in the equation of motion. Using this 3D-FDTD code we compared a parallel coupled microstrip line resonator with it on a thin film of ferrite. A propagation of MSW on a thin film of ferrite can be observed. Resonance and MSW coupling characteristics of coupled line on magnetized magnetic material is analyzed. For a better accuracy of the FDTD method, perfectly matched layered (PML) is used as absorbing boundary condition.
