In-service upgrade method for DWDM submarine cable system using ASE dummy lights

We propose the in-service upgrade method with ASE dummy lights. Two key technologies, appropriate arrangement of ASE dummy lights and overlap replacement of dummies, can minimize the performance fluctuation of the existing signals in upgrading.
