The use of equivalent electronic circuits in physiology teaching

This paper is a report on a new approach in physiology teaching for medical students. The aim is to promote qualitative as well as quantitative analog thinking about time-dependent physiological processes. Therefore, the concept of equivalent electronic circuits is introduced. Simulation of creatinine distribution within body compartments and its excretion is described by equivalent electronic circuits. Examples of additional simulations are presented and finally, students' approach to working with these simulations is explained.
