Security and the architectural expression of territory

Territory is about control of space and its defense against encroachment from outside. Existing forms can be used for territorial reasons, the way a river or mountain range forms a boundary between countries. But physical forms can also be made to serve territorial demarcation. The photographs In this work illustrate human beings' approaches to territory in the built environment. Key issues related to territory and security in modern society is considered.
