Spherical resonators with Bragg confinement

In this paper we develop the concept of such a Bragg reflector resonator and show recent results obtained at microwave and millimeter wave frequencies. Assuming methods can be developed to apply this technique at optical frequencies we discuss the properties of such resonators.
