Performance of AMI-RZ and DCS-RZ single-sideband signals in an 80% spectral-efficient UDWDM ultra-long-haul transmission system

The performance of AMI-RZ-SSB and DCS-RZ-SSB signals in an 80% spectral-efficient cost-optimized 4/spl times/40 Gbit/s/channel UDWDM system is investigated numerically. A Q-factor of 16.9 dB remained attainable after transmission over 15/spl times/80 km of standard single-mode fiber.
