A method for knowledge representation with automatic uncertainty embodiment

A key issue in dealing with knowledge representation is how to combine evidences from different sources, modelling adequately its uncertainty and conflict. A popular formalism to model someone's degrees of belief is the Theory of Evidence, or Dempster-Shafer Theory. This theory lacks a mean of automatic uncertainty embodiment, which limits the range of application of this theory, and, at the same time, leads to a potential disregard of hypothesis that otherwise could add information to the system. We present a way to modify the Theory of Evidence, able to solve the counter intuitive behavior.
