Preparation and characterization of PI/inorganic nanoparticles corona-resistance composite film

In this paper, PAA/nano-SiO/sub 2/ hybrid was made by means of ultrasonic method, then effectively stable and redisperse matrix was obtained, and heated step by step until 573 K. The heating process lasted about eight hours and we gained film 20-30 /spl mu/m in thickness. The dispersion stability, morphology and structure of film were characterized by means of IR and AM. The results show that inorganic nanoparticles in PAA matrix can redisperse more effectively by ultrasonic irradiation than by conventional stirring. These films made in this craft polymerization that are examined by corona-resistant test. The results show that these films are largely different in the corona-resistance behavior between primeval PI and PI/nano-SiO/sub 2/ composite films. Meanwhile, we study the breakdown behavior of the films.
