Effect of disjoining pressure on disk-to-head lube transfer

The lower fly heights in today's disk drives have increased the sensitivity of the slider air-bearing surface (ABS) to lubricant and contamination accumulation. Such accumulation can cause a variety of data errors. The disjoining pressure has been shown to affect the wetting of lube on the disk and is suspected to also play a role in mogul formation. The purpose of this work is to study the effect of the disjoining pressure on lubricant transfer from the disk to head.
