A low-complexity echo canceller performing the channel phase acquisition

An algorithm with low complexity (multiplication free) is presented for the purpose of echo cancellation at a data rate of up to 4800 bit/s. It is derived from the sign algorithm, and takes into account only the component of the error that is not corrupted by the far-end data signal.
