High power operation of varactor devices

THE INCREASED INTEREST in obtaining moderate output power from varactor devices, in the order of tens of watts, has resulted in a need for a suitable goodness criterion. Nay method for comparing the potential of various varactors should be circuit-independent and should be based on the intrinsic parameters of the varactors may be evaluated and compared for both efficiency and power-handling capability will be discussed.
