A comparison of the diffusion-limited semiconductor junction diode and the space-charge-limited dielectric diode

THE DIFFUSION-LIMITED SEMICONDUCTOR DIODE and the space-charge-limited dielectric diode are both similar in basic operation. Current occurs in each device by the transit of charge between an input electrode and an output electrode; to achieve large current the input capacitance for stored charge must be large and the transit time of charge must be small.
