VMOS memory technology

ONE OF THE EARLY CONCERNS about VMOS technology was circuit inflexibility due to a grounded-source configuration. This restriction did not hinder the development of an all-NOR-logic 130-mil 16K ROM’ , but would have complicated the design of a static RAM. Furthermore, it was not evident how VMOS could be a broad-based memory technology, including EPROM and dynamic RAM capability.
