Evaluation of paging by satellite

Satellite based mobile services are in the early stages of their development and initial services will provide only low speed data, with medium grade voice communications to follow later. The authors describe a technical evaluation which was performed on an experimental satellite paging system. This system was configured for ease of implementation rather than for ultimate performance for the limited satellite power available.<
