Cutting Force Analysis of Split Beam Connectors

The insertion process of a bare wire into a split beam is analyzed using the theories of metal cutting. The insertion and the wire entry force, which are two important design considerations for insulation displacement type connectors, are calculated theoretically and found to agree with the values obtained from the experiment.
