On the suboptimal design of regulators using time-multiplied performance index

The suboptimal design of linear regulators with time-multiplied quadratic performance index, using constant state feedback gains is considered. The necessary conditions to be satisfied by the suboptimal control law are derived in a simpler way using the Hamiltonian approach. An example is given to illustrate more clearly the effect of time-multiplied performance index on the transient response.
