Proposals of expanded traffic signal simulator and emotional algorithm

This paper proposes the new emotional algorithm and traffic signal simulator. This paper shows the efficiency of the new emotional algorithm optimizing the performance of the traffic simulator. The emotional algorithm estimates the emotional value based on the emotional functions, which are defined on the emotional space. The emotional space consists of two factors, "HAPPY" and "ANGRY", and provides the emotional states of the system based on its value. The emotional function imitates the state of driver's mind, and aims at the system not to inflict the psychological stress onto the driver. Moreover, the emotional function achieves different characteristics of performances - individuality. The individuality of traffic signals can optimize the arrangements of signals. This report proposes the principal architecture of the new emotional algorithm with the above individual and the traffic signal system simulator using it. The numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the new emotional algorithm with individuality, together with the optimized arrangements of traffic signals. The DEA simulator, of which the parameters change dynamically by evaluating the congestion of a road, improves the architecture of traffic signals networks.
