Detecting land cover characteristics along with changing scales based on remotely sensed data

The aim of this paper is to detect the impact of spatial resolution of remotely sensed data on land cover characteristics reflected by them. NOAA/AVHRR NDVI images with 1 km, 4 km and 8 km were employed to described the land cover pattern taking the west of the IGBP's Northeast China Transect (NECT) as the study area. The spatial patterns of regional land cover revealed by 3 images are consistent, but boundary, shape, complexity and number of land cover type patches are different greatly.
