Investigation of breakdown field increasing in linear electron accelerator

It was established that breakdown not only cleans the surface, but also simultaneously creates films, reducing the electrical strength in vacuum conditions of a linac. The matter of this phenomenon is connected with atmospheric and vacuum contamination. Therefore, possibilities of the gradient increasing by preliminary processing are connected with a diminution of a surface sorption capacity.
