AFM observation of hard disk lubricant coated with plasma polymerized carbon

A spacing of head media interface is getting extremely small to achieve higher recording density. Understanding of lubricant morphology and behavior on the carbon overcoat surface of magnetic hard disk is very important for proximity recording and contact recording in the near future.
