Detection and notification of preterm labor in high-risk pregnancies

Women who have a high-risk of preterm labor would benefit from a device that continuously-monitors their cervical dilation. The proposed methodology for such a device consists of an internal device that measures the woman's cervical dilation and wirelessly transmits these measurements to an external device as well as her physician. When critical dilation is detected, the woman will be prompted to visit her physician for further examination.
