Evaluating imaging quality of the offner hyperspectrometer

To improve quality of hyperspectral remote sensing and spectral-topographic recognition, novel compact and efficient imaging spectrometer schemes are necessary. The paper considers an imaging spectrometer based on the Offner scheme. Due to its compact size, imaging spectrometer with Offner configuration is promising for use in small and atmospheric satellites. We describe the Offner optical scheme, data acquisition procedure and its comprehensive evaluation. The magnitude transfer function is estimated to evaluate imaging resolution. The spectral resolution was compared with the spectral resolution of a reference spectrometer. To deliver image quality acceptable for general purpose remote sensing, we identify the point-spread function and then apply non-blind deconvolution and denoising.
